Kylie BartlettMy name is Kylie Bartlett and I am the creative mind and teacher behind Scribbles & Squiggles Art Workshops for Amazing Little People. Since the birth of my first child in 2005 my passion for inspiring and developing young minds through art has become a very personal journey. I have always helped young people use art as a vehicle of self expression and communication working as an art teacher in a high school setting. With a keen interest in gifted and talented programs and the impact creativity and the arts had on developmental growth, I began exploring the arts with the youngest of children. I have completed a Bachelor of Education, taught in a range of educational settings in Australia and the United Kingdom. Whilst teaching abroad, I began working for a local borough council devising and presenting art workshops to children aged 5-16 years of age. As I explored every facet of the arts with my own children on a daily basis, I often invited family and friends to join our messy fun. Soon a multi-arts based approach to parenting became my third child. Friends with children frequently asked me for ideas they could do with their own children. The ideas were plenty and so Scribbles & Squiggles was born. After seeing the amazing benefits to my own children and others I wanted share this magic with all parents. And the journey hasn't stopped. I also run workshops and professional inservice to other educators. I work as a learning adviser for James Cook University and stay at the cutting edge of art education by further study. I am currently working toward my PhD in art education. And in my spare time... I love creating art workshops and community events for children in my district. |
