Program Structure

Scribbles & Squiggles Art Workshops make up a program that is creative and fun, building your child's appreciation for art as well as developing their confidence.

All workshop activities encourage children to explore and experience new sensations and use their imagination and creativity, as they develop physical, social and intellectual skills.

All workshop activities are linked through themes and each 45 minute session incorporates:

Time to play, look and listen - The Magic Carpet

• Time to play, look and listen allows children to discover the world around them.
• During this time children's senses are stimulated and engaged through the observation of different art work, music, stories, puppets, pretending and dramatic play.
• All of which activities are designed to promote listening and language skills, stimulate the imagination; develop vocabulary, rhyme and repetition, abstract thinking, cooperation and sharing of ideas.
• This time also allows parents and care givers an opportunity to observe, understand, respect and enjoy the individuality of every child.

Time to create - Art and Craft based activities

• Time to create allows little ones the time, space and materials to explore the creative process through a range of media.
• While set activities are visited through this phase children are given the freedom to experiment, create accidental art pieces, and take parents and carers on a learning journey.
• Parents learn how to talk about the process of making art with their children. Through a supportive process parents learn to expand children's vocabulary by verbalising the elements of what we see and the process or technique used in the creative process.
• Particular focus is placed on the creative process, allowing it to evolve freely.
• Each week creative parenting tips, recipes and developmental handouts provide parents with practical and easy ways to celebrate each child's creativity.

Time to Interact & Explore - The Sensory Space

• Time to interact and explore encourages babies, toddlers and children the freedom to explore and interact with other infants in an environment that is physically safe, cognitively challenging and emotionally nurturing.
• During this phase children are allowed the time for uninterrupted play.
• This is an opportunity for children to use their imagination, stimulate their curiosity and experience the joy of discovery as they explore a range of sensory and developmental toys and games.
