Term Classes

Seeing and feeling the world is an important step to artistic and creative development. The Scribbles & Squiggles Art Workshops for babies are designed to let little ones explore and experience the world around them through art. Workshops for creative babies allow parents and caregivers to bond with their babies while helping them to see, hear, touch and actively enjoy their surroundings. The workshops provide a safe environment for creative moments, the gift of giving and baby watching to occur. Creative moments also provide parents and babies with the opportunity to create timeless gifts of love as well as sensory toys.

Creative Crawlers (Art for babies and toddlers)

This is an opportunity for them to think and act for themselves. A child between 6 and 12 months have the ability to hold, look at and mouth crayons, taste clay and smear paint (all non-toxic products). Scribbles & Squiggles Art Workshops for crawlers also develop an awareness of art through the senses as they begin to explore different art media and interact with other infants.

Little Picassos (1-2½ yr months)

While 12 -18 month olds often produce tentative scribbles, can pound and pinch clay they can draw for the first time at about 15-20 months. They openly love to discover and explore their environment. Scribbles & Squiggles Art Workshops provide lots of opportunities for children to explore different art media and encourage participation with lots and lots of support. Little Picassos just love stories on the magic carpet, opened ended art activities and games to play in the sensory space. Parents also love the creative parenting tips and art ideas to explore at home.

Creative Explorers (2-4 years)

Toddlers' sense of self is growing stronger and they love to explore art experiences that are play based and help communicate ideas. First conscious creation of form occurs around the age of three and provides a record of the child's thinking process. Often after weeks of scribbling they discover a symbol can stand for a real thing in the environment. Circular forms become universal for just about anything and later symbols become more complex, reflecting child's observations on the world around them. Scribbles & Squiggles Art Workshops for creative explorers encompass story telling themes, dramatic play and exploration and discovery of a range of art media including finger paint, sand, chalk, oil pastels, play dough and more.

Creative Kids (5-10yrs)

From this age children can create pictures that represent what they see and do their work may appear abstract but when you talk to them you will see that they use many symbols to represent their ideas and the things that they see. Scribbles & Squiggles Art Workshops provide a space where they can create and explore a range of art activities including collage, fibre works, edible art, body art & movement, construction, modelling, painting, drawing and sculpture. Scribbles & Squiggles Art Workshops for creative kids allows them the freedom to explore their new found sense of independence and their environment through a number of art activities
